Service and Mission Ministry

Christ's church is not defined by belief or worship, but by action.  The Service and Mission division leads Harpeth by encouraging and facilitating member involvement in mission.  We support the following ministries with our efforts and finances.

Williamson County Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity helps build simple, decent houses in partnership with those in need using volunteer labor and donations.

Volunteers helped to build a home in Fairview in 2013.  Habitat is an exciting opportunity to partner with families to help them realize the dream of home ownership.  More than two dozen members of Harpeth worked alongside other volunteers and Habitat families to take a house from foundation to roof in one weekend!

Red Cross Blood Drive

The Red Cross Bloodmobile comes to Harpeth Presbyterian Church on Sunday mornings where the bus stays filled all morning!! Thanks to all who help give blood.  Your donation helps save a life.  Our church is a congregation of cheerful givers!

Monroe Harding Children's Home

The foster care program at Monroe Harding services the most vulnerable children from birth to age 18. They provide safety, support and caring people for children and youth in state custody or foster care, or youth who have aged out of foster care.

Volunteers from Harpeth help fill Santa's sleigh each year for their children and youth.  Clothing and household items, as well as gift cards are greatly appreciated.

Serving Breakfast to the Homeless at Downtown Presbyterian Church

Members of Harpeth gather periodically throughout the year to help serve breakfast to Nashville's homeless population at Downtown Presbyterian Church in Nashville.

GraceWorks Ministries

GraceWorks Ministries provides basic necessities of life like food, clothing and shelter for struggling families in Williamson County.  Each year, volunteers from Harpeth help deliver Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to families in need.

Mobile Meals

Mobile Meals is an ecumenical organization begun in 1975 to answer the question of how to care for people in our community.  Meals are prepared by Bateman Senior Services and delivered to Calvary Methodist Church in Nashville where volunteers receive the meals and begin their routes.  Harpeth Presbyterian Church has the smallest congregation of the 8 participating churches but provides one-fifth of the volunteers.  Harpeth Presbyterian Church also supports Mobile Meals financially to provide meal services to people in need in our community.

Martha O'Bryan Center

Harpeth supports the Martha O'Bryan Center in East Nashville to provide resources to needy individuals and families through work, education, employment and fellowship.  Volunteers from Harpeth participate in the Purity Miss Martha Ice Cream Crankin fund raising event held each year at First Presbyterian Church in Nashville.

CROP Walk

Volunteers from Harpeth participate each Spring in the CROP Walk, a 5K family walk fund raiser to enhance the awareness of hunger in the world and our community.
