ReCYCLE For Kids

The youth of Harpeth Presbyterian Church are working with Hands On Nashville and its ReCYCLE for Kids program to collect bikes for underserved children. Over 200 underserved kids received bikes through this program last year. Our youth have set a goal to donate at least 100 bikes.

The kids are given their refurbished bikes in mid-Summer at a fun, educational event that includes road safety activities, a bicycle skills course. Each child will also receive a free helmet and bike lock.

How can you help?
Donate bikes under 20”, in any condition. How? Put out a notice on your neighborhood Facebook page or nextdoor.com, and ask friends all your friends and neighbors. Although the program is geared toward kids bikes, no adult bike will be turned away.

What if they need repair?
Volunteers and bike experts from the Oasis Bike Workshop will refurbish the donated bikes to “like new” condition. Any bike that can’t be fixed will be used for parts or recycled.

Where do I donate my bike?
The youth and their parents will gladly pick up any donated bike. All you need to do is call or text Brent Grunfeld at 615-584-0116 to schedule a pick up.
